State of the 4545 League

Eventful week in the 4545 community! Season 14 of the League came to an end, a successful simul against IM lovlas was hosted and a Blitz Battle was held on Sunday.

Let's talk about Season 14 first. Team 'Hey Guys, it's John' have won the season with 15 match points, staying undefeated and drawing in just one round out of eight rounds. Congratulations to this invincible team! Team, 'Ha, We Got Lovlas' stood second because they got their points cut for gloating and team 'Six Piece Tablebase' stood third, congrats to both these teams too. Little trivia on the season by @colwem: "33 game points by “Hey Guys, it’s John” is the most in league history and 15 match points is tied for the most with “Smack My Bishop” in season 3."

Now onto the simul:
The simul was hosted by @colwem, who says, "So the simul is over. It was a success. Nothing annoying happened. People enjoyed it. We plan to do this again next month. Link to the simul https://lichess.org/simul/wILvOyvY. Lovlas mostly crushed us going +26=2-6. Congratulations to Isachess, they achieved the biggest upset by overcoming a 669 point rating disadvantage to win.

That was a fun opportunity for everyone to have a grudge match against our highest rated player, thanks to colwem for organizing it.

LoneWolf is in its second last round. @Leverkuhn has been leading the pack in the Open section with a lot of vociferousness, @badplayer_cm is trying to keep pace. @ed84 leads the U1800 section with @yoyold just a half point behind.

It’s like the #board-championship that I ran in previous seasons just instead of a knockout tournament the top finishers on each board are going to play a match in the style of the WCC to decide who the chess champion of the world is (on that board)."
