State of the 4545 League

We're currently in the 8th and last round of the 18th season of the team league and teams are close to each other. "8 Good Mates" are leading the season with 12 match points, followed by "Need More Plan" with 11 match points. Sorry to tell this but if you guys don't find a good plan I don't think you're going to win the season! There are 4 teams in 3rd place with 10 match points with few game points seperating them. It's going to be a close one!

In the Open section of LoneWolf #15, @ErinYu is currently first with 9/10 points and 0 losses and there is only one round left for the season to end. NM @ChristopherChabris is second with 8.5/10 points and in 3rd place there are 2 people with 7.5 points. So everything is still possible for the first as well as for the second and third place. In the U1800 section of LoneWolf #15 @swandog has secured the first place with 8.5/10 points even though there is still one more round to go. The battle happens for the 2nd and 3rd place where 6 people with 7 points fight for a good spot. Some people with 6.5 points could perhaps also grant the 2nd or 3rd place but I'm not good at stats so you could check the standings here and do the math on your own, or wait until next week where winners will be announced in the next ledger edition.

In Lichess960 @Supermaths is leading with 5/5 points and there are only 2 rounds left. @MoistvonLipwig and @Scrooge are following with 4/5 points. Board 1 game of the week is @Supermaths vs @Scrooge. For detailed standings click here.

September Simul on Saturday the 28th @ 16:00 UTC hosted by mathijshuis This September the 4545 Simul Series is experimenting with a new idea. The inverse blindfold simul! Everyone is "blindfold" except for the host! To play you need to go into your lichess settings and turn on blindfold mode. This technique should let lower rated players host a simul without getting absolutely crushed. Please help us make this experiment a success! Blindfold mode removes the pieces from the board. You can still see the notation, you can grab pieces and move them. You can see the squares light up showing the last move. You just can't see the pieces

Find someone to enjoy a game with, whether it's rated or unrated, classical or a variant like Chess 960. This is a great way to get some practice in that new opening line that you are preparing for league play. Post your preferences and play the way that you want.
